This is a rare Yamaha TY50 (Trial 50) 2-stroke mini trials motorcycle, sold as a complete running bike. The previous owner swapped in a 5-speed engine from an RD50SP (taken from a bike with around 5,000km), which the seller says gives more power and a more fun ride than a stock TY. Crank seals were replaced by a shop in 2023, the carburetor is the RD unit running with velocity stacks (screens installed), and the exhaust is the original TY muffler, which the seller says gives good low-end response. The frame was fully stripped, stripped of old paint, and repainted in silver two-part urethane in 2024; the front forks show little rust and had an oil change in 2024. The bike is registered with a yellow plate, comes with a key and transfer/deregistration paperwork for quick re-registration, and currently starts, runs, stops, and turns without issue. A start-up video was posted by the seller on YouTube. The seller notes reduced power on uphill grades, possibly from lower compression, and recommends a mechanically inclined buyer.
Seller notes general wear/scratches and dirt consistent with a vintage 2-stroke; the headlight works but turn signals and brake lights were not verified. Seller also notes reduced uphill power, possibly due to low compression.
