Yamaha RD250 (1A4 Frame with 400cc Engine) Domestic Motorcycle

This is a Yamaha RD250 (frame code 1A4) that has been fitted with the larger 400cc two-stroke engine, commonly known as a "250 frame, 400 engine" build, and is registered in Japan as a 250. The seller has personally performed extensive refresh work including carburetor overhaul (Keihin/Keister), oil pump overhaul, neutral switch replacement, visible oil seal replacement, front and rear wheel overhaul with new bearings, new tires (TT900), bushing replacement at side cover grommets, handlebar and step brackets, conversion to semi-transistor ignition, front and rear caliper overhaul with new brake hoses, rear master cylinder overhaul with front master cylinder swapped to a Nissin unit, fuel petcock and tank cap gasket replacement, most bulbs replaced, clutch release overhaul, transmission oil change, new clutch cable, spark plug cables/caps, and a new battery. The tank shows no rust inside, forks show no oil leaks, lights and switches all function, and the engine runs smoothly with no unusual noise. A later note states the clutch cable used is for the 1A0 spec since the correct 1A4 cable did not fit. Comes with an original service manual and parts list, original tools, caution labels, and factory wiring bands. A YouTube video is referenced showing the bike running.

Seller states there are scratches and dirt consistent with garage storage, and notes a chip in the seat cowl (seat material itself is not torn). No exterior dents, no tank rust, and no fork oil leaks are mentioned.
