Kawasaki KZ1000 BIMOTA - Full Restoration/Rebuild, Weiseco, Campagnolo Mag Wheels, TMR, Brembo, TAVAX, image 1

Description

This is an air-cooled Kawasaki two-valve KZ1000 built in Bimota-style specification (Z1R-based chassis and running gear), fully restored and rebuilt by the seller with mostly new parts. It is registered in Japan with a plate, but the shaken (vehicle inspection) has expired; registration certificate and transfer documents are included. Odometer reads under 200km since the rebuild. The engine is a fully overhauled Z1R-II type with 71mm Weiseco pistons (1045cc), a Web ST-2 camshaft, KPM stainless big valves, TMR36 carburetors with velocity stacks, and a Termignoni exhaust, paired with a hydraulic clutch and Brembo master cylinder. Front end uses standard forks (overhauled), a one-off hollow TAVAX aluminum steering stem, vintage Campagnolo magnesium wheels (overhauled, gold-painted), Pirelli Sport Demon tires, and a vintage Brembo 4-pot caliper with 280mm cast iron rotor. Rear end has a Bimota square-tube swingarm, a Paioli shock, matching Campagnolo mag wheel, Brembo 2-pot floating caliper with a PMC 250mm slotted rotor, and vintage Menani rearsets. New wiring harness, gauges, ignition, and drivetrain components were installed during the build. Two spare cowls, cowl stays, and an unused windscreen are included as extras but are not mounted. No battery is included.

Seller describes the bike as a concours-level, freshly restored/rebuilt machine with no visible scratches and glossy repainted/polished surfaces, though as a roughly 40-year-old vehicle some age-related dents, dullness, surface rust, or minor part substitutions may exist. The rear shock is noted as slightly soft (not leaking), and the seller states there appears to be no active oil leakage, though minor seepage typical of an old engine should be expected.

Shipping: Seller ships via Yamato Takkyubin from Fukuoka Prefecture. Delivery to a depot is possible but will take extra time, and bringing the bike to the Dazaifu depot carries an additional charge of 10,000 yen.

Ships from Fukuoka, Japan, to our Osaka warehouse and on to Pomona.
