This is a life-size papier-mâché (hariko) store display figure of Fujiya's mascot Peko-chan, dressed as Shirley Temple in a one-piece dress, with a nodding head mechanism. The seller believes it dates from the Showa 50s era (mid-to-late 1970s) or possibly earlier. It stands about 110cm tall, 40cm wide, with a base 40cm in diameter. The feet are removable, and the figure ships disassembled and packed into a box. This was a store display piece and is marked as not for sale (non-売品) originally.
Overall dirt, dust, and fading are present; the fabric next to the back zipper is torn, and the bloomers are held closed with a safety pin. The stand/base shows rust, and the seller notes the item is overall in poor condition.
