Description

This is a 2002 Daihatsu Storia in the rare Touring grade (model M101S, engine K3-VE2, 1.3L gasoline, 5-speed manual, 2WD, 5-door hatchback, 5-seat). Odometer shows 57,000km, stated as actual mileage. Seller notes no accident/repair history and no maintenance record book on file; vehicle inspection (shaken) has lapsed. Sold as-is, current condition handover, with the car already temporarily deregistered and transfer documents included. The Touring grade uses a high-octane engine, dedicated suspension plus rear stabilizer, quicker steering ratio, larger brakes, and unique seats, giving it a noticeably different feel from the standard CX grade or early VE2 cars. The seller notes the stock final gear ratio feels a bit tall and suggests changing it if rebuilding the differential. A copy of the transmission service manual can be included for the winning bidder. Seller states the car runs, steers, and brakes fine, and having owned over ten Storia/Duet cars, believes this one retains more power feel than typical due to low mileage (K3 engines lose power over time from piston ring wear). Underbody rust is minimal and air conditioning works.

Exterior has fading, dents, and scratches and is described as not great; interior is said to be clean for its age aside from peeling chrome backing on the rear-view mirror. Tires are the original type with at least 60% tread remaining, and underbody rust is minimal.

Shipping: Seller can arrange trucking via a company called Zero; buyers should check Zero's website for rates, full payment (winning bid plus transport cost) is required upfront, and delivery can take about 3 weeks. Seller can also personally deliver the car under a temporary plate within about 120km one-way from Ueda, only on Sundays or Wednesdays, at a lower cost than Zero (inquire for pricing). Buyer must arrange pickup within two weeks of the auction ending; the vehicle is already deregistered and sold with transfer documents.

How This Is Invoiced

The total above is what the vehicle costs you landed. It is collected in two charges, usually four to eight weeks apart.

Charge 1, $4,048
Due when we win the auction and secure the vehicle. Covers the vehicle price and delivery to our Osaka warehouse, less any deposit already paid.
Charge 2, $4,909
Due when the shipment is booked. Covers commission, customs paperwork, storage, transload, handling, U.S. import duty, and ocean freight to California.

Both figures move with the final winning bid. A deposit of 20% of your max bid is due before we bid.
