Description

This listing is for a 1950 Harley-Davidson WL flathead side-valve motorcycle, recently registered in Japan with vehicle inspection (shaken) valid until January 6, 2029. Included documents are the Japanese inspection certificate, the original US title, and a bill of sale. The engine is stamped WL; the seller notes the case is likely a non-matching (mismatched) case, which was common for the era and not something they consider a concern. A start-up video was confirmed before import, but the seller describes the bike as needing finishing work: carburetor (Linkert) and ignition tuning, and some wiring redone with crimp-sleeve splices in the US style that would look better rewrapped in cloth-braid wiring. The speedometer dash has no bulb socket installed and would need wiring if the buyer wants to use it, since the seller planned a bobber build without the dash. A new right-side wheel adjuster was fitted, the taillight bulb was swapped from 12V to 6V, and the brake switch wiring was corrected and tested. The current exhaust pipe is worn; a new exhaust header was sourced but needs fitting work, so it is currently held on with muffler clamps and liquid gasket as a temporary fix. Extra new-old-stock parts (meter drive unit, speedometer cable, spare wheel adjuster, exhaust pipe, spare muffler clamps) are offered to the buyer at no extra cost. The exterior has heavy, intentional patina; the seller has not washed or de-rusted it to preserve the survivor look. Expect typical oil seepage on a bike this old.

Seller-marked condition is 'scratches and dirt present.' Mechanically the bike starts but needs carb/ignition tuning, some wiring has been spliced US-style, the exhaust is temporarily fitted, and the case number pairing is likely mismatched; some oil seepage is expected given its age.

Shipping: The seller can arrange domestic land transport (陸送) within Japan but the cost is the buyer's responsibility. Buyers may also arrange their own transport or pick up the motorcycle in person from the seller's warehouse in Saitama.
